This is a yoga retreat like no other – a chance to immerse yourself in the wild beauty of Kenya, rest deeply, move joyfully, and reconnect with nature and yourself. We'll be staying at the beautiful Kilima Gardens, a boutique eco-retreat centre nestled in the foothills of Mount Kenya, where natural elegance meets peaceful seclusion.

This retreat is designed for adults of all yoga experience, who love the grounding magic of nature-inspired yoga, and want to take that connection further – into the warmth of Kenyan culture, the rhythms of nature, and the richness of rest. From nourishing meals crafted with local produce to daily yoga sessions and cultural excursions, every aspect of your experience is thoughtfully curated. Our aim is to provide a seamless and enriching retreat where all you need to do is arrive and immerse yourself in the journey.

About Kilima Gardens

Kilima Gardens is a peaceful, off-grid haven just outside Nanyuki, the gateway to Mount Kenya. It’s around a 3-hour drive from Nairobi, making it a perfect blend of remote tranquillity and accessible adventure.

Kilima Gardens is a lovingly-crafted retreat space that blends comfort and seclusion with the raw beauty of Kenyan nature. Each boutique room has garden or mountain views, a private ensuite (some with outdoor showers!) and handcrafted details celebrating Kenyan design.

Your host Alice stayed at Kilima Gardens last year, and immediately fell in love with it! From glass-roof sauna stargazing to the open-air hammock deck, everything here is designed to help you drop in, tune out, and reconnect.

About Alice

Alice is a Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner (Usui Level 2), and  Emergency Medicine Doctor with a passion for holistic health and wellbeing in nature.

Based in the UK, Alice offers Yoga and Reiki in the Woods β€“ unique, nurturing outdoor experiences designed to help participants reconnect with nature while restoring balance to their body and mind.

Alice spent her childhood in Africa, and has recently returned from 3 extraordinary months exploring Kenya, where she fell in love with the country, the locals and the culture, and the seed was planted for this retreat.

    • Due to the natural setting of Kilima Gardens, the retreat may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility. Please contact Alice if you have any concerns or access needs.

    • Adults of all yoga experience are welcome!

    • To get the most out of this yoga retreat, I recommend taking part in at least 3/4 yoga classes before joining.

    • Kenya is a land of profound beauty and cultural richness. Nanyuki, known as the gateway to Mount Kenya, offers a unique blend of equatorial charm and highland tranquillity. Its diverse landscapes and vibrant local communities provide an ideal backdrop for a retreat that seeks to harmonize mind, body, and spirit.

    • Please aim to arrive at Kilima Gardens at approx 15:00 on the first day (1 February 2026).

    • Departure from Kilima Gardens will be 11:00 on the final day (7 February 2026).

    • Group size is typically 6 - 12 students.

    • To keep things intimate and connected, I’m limiting the group size to a maximum of 18 people. This allows for shared community, but also space and quiet when you need it.

    • The retreat requires a minimum of 6 participants to go ahead. In the unlikely event this number isn’t reached, you will be offered a full refund.

    • Flights from London to Nairobi are approximately Β£600 return.

    • Please aim to arrive at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by 11:00am on 1st February 2026, to allow time for a 3-hour transfer to Kilima Gardens and an arrival at approx. 15:00.

    • For your convenience, we can assist in arranging an optional transfer from Nairobi to Kilima Gardens. Details, including costs and scheduling, will be provided closer to the retreat date.

    • You’ll need a passport with at least 6 months’ validity from your date of arrival in Kenya.

    • A visa is required for entry – most travellers can apply for an eVisa online.

    • Please ensure you have appropriate travel insurance (ensure that it covers you for such unlikely events as flight disruptions or necessary cancellation of your retreat place).

    • Please ensure you have all necessary immunisations (check the latest NHS Fit for Travel advice for Kenya).

    • Yes, please bring a yoga mat, and any other props (e.g. blocks) which you think will aid you.

    • A non-refundable deposit of Β£450 is required to secure your place on the retreat.

    • The full balance is due by 1 November 2025, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

    • I understand life happens and for whatever reason you may not be able to attend. If you need to cancel your booking, the following refund policy applies:

    • Cancellation before 1 November 2025 – Full refund of payments made, minus the non-refundable deposit.

    • Cancellation between 1–30 November 2025 – 50% refund of payments made, minus the deposit.

    • Cancellation between 1–31 December 2025 – 25% refund of payments made, minus the deposit.

    • Cancellation between 1–31 January 2026 – No refund available.

    • All cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds will be provided within 30 days of notification of cancellation.

    • I strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to protect yourself in case of unforeseen circumstances.

    • If you're unable to attend, you may transfer your booking to another person, provided they meet the retreat criteria, and you notify Alice Faulkner in writing 72 hours ahead of the retreat.

    • Please note: The retreat requires a minimum of 6 participants to go ahead. In the unlikely event this number isn’t reached, you will be offered a full refund.

    • When you book your spot you confirm that you understand and accept this policy.

  • Kenya Retreat 2026 – Terms & Conditions

    Please read these carefully before booking your place. By submitting your booking form and deposit, you are agreeing to these terms.

    1. Booking and Payment

    A non-refundable deposit of Β£450 is required to secure your place.

    Payment may be made in full or in instalments, as outlined on the retreat webpage.

    Full balance must be paid by 1 November 2025, unless otherwise agreed.

    Payment is by bank transfer – details will be emailed after you complete the booking form.

    If the balance price of you retreat is not paid by the final payment date (1 November 2025), Alice Faulkner reserves the right to cancel your retreat and retain the deposit.

    2. Cancellation Policy

    Please see β€˜Cancellation Policy’ above in the Further Information section.

    3. Minimum Numbers

    The retreat requires a minimum of 6 participants to run. In the unlikely event this number is not reached, you will receive a full refund.

    4. Insurance & Health

    Travel insurance is strongly recommended. It is your responsibility to ensure this covers retreat participation, cancellation, medical emergencies, and any travel disruption.

    You are responsible for obtaining any required immunisations and travel health advice.

    It is your responsibility to notify Alice of any allergies, dietary requirements or medical needs via the booking form.

    5. Travel

    Flights are not included and must be arranged independently.

    Group transfer from Nairobi to Kilima Gardens may be arranged as an optional extra. Details will be provided closer to the time.

    You must ensure that your passport is valid for entry to Kenya (with at least 6 months’ validity from date of entry) and that you meet visa requirements.

    6. Changes to Schedule & Pricing

    While every effort will be made to deliver the full schedule as described, Alice reserves the right to make reasonable changes in the event of weather conditions, local changes or other unforeseen circumstances, and to amend the retreat price and run promotions at any time.

    7. Liability

    Participation is at your own risk. Alice Faulkner accepts no liability for personal injury, loss or damage during the retreat, unless caused by proven negligence.

    8. Personal Conduct

    You agree to behave respectfully and in a way that supports the safety and enjoyment of all attendees. Inappropriate behaviour may result in your removal from the retreat without refund.

    9. Data and Privacy

    Your information will be used to contact you regarding the retreat and for planning purposes (including sharing relevant details such as dietary needs with the chef). You will be added to Alice’s newsletter mailing list, if you have consented to do so, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
